CourtStrong was founded on a simple but powerful principle: Pay It Forward.
Courtney Leigh Nelson (Barth) was young, vibrant and full of life—a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, sister and friend. In December 2015, she was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage IV adenocarcinoma of unknown primary. Despite extensive testing and consultations with top cancer specialists, her cancer’s origin was never found.
Through it all, Courtney remained determined to fight. She refused to let cancer define her or take away the light she brought to the world. More than anything, she wanted to spend time with her family, especially her two young sons.
